The Single Story Foundation (TSSF) is currently open for submissions. The journal will be accepting poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction.
In an email to Brittle Paper, their editors stated that their interest are in “works about Africa, Africans, and African issues from writers of African descents or those associated with Africa.”
Here are the submission guidelines.
  • TSSF does not not accept unoriginal or previously published pieces.
  • Word count for nonfiction: 4,000 words. Word count for fiction: 6,000 words. Poetry: three to five poems.
  •  Writers should send their works as a Microsoft Word document attachment to journal@singlestory.org, with the email title as TSSF Journal: [Work Name], [genre]. Identifying information should not be in the document submitted.
  • All submissions should include at most a 100-word biography, in the body of the email.
  • Deadline: July 15.

Submissions to TSSF will be peer-reviewed by Tolu Oloruntoba, Chris Ogunlowo, Ayo Sogunro, Meka Jegede, and Kacy Cunningham.
