This site is a marketplace for internationals and Rwandans in the film industry to find each other and do business.

As a member you are part of an international community of professionals working in the film industry with which you can network. Only members of this site can:

  • Create a profile
  • List a job
  • Post a question on our discussion board
  • Contact a location manager

Permits are issued through the Ministry of Sports and Culture.

Fill out a Film Authorization Request here and return to the Ministry of Sports and Culture at info@minispoc.gov.rw.

Only one permit per production is needed.

The Ministry of Sports and Culture says they issue permits within three working days after receiving your request.

As of July 2013, there are no tax incentives for international film productions shooting in Rwanda.

As of July 2013, there is no duty to bring equipment into the country.

Local film professionals or support service vendors can post a profile as follows:

  • Register as a member of the site.
  • After you confirm your registration, log onto the site and complete your profile.
  • All profiles are monitored by human beings. We will remove any posting that does not abide by our Terms of Use.

Yes. All electricity in Rwanda is provided by the Energy Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA). Electricity is less readily available in rural areas. To find out more about electricity availability and usage rates visit the EWSA site.

Yes. Peace and security are a top priority of the government and there are many internationals living and working in the country. According to the U.S. Government, violent crimes are rarely committed against foreigners. However, as you should always do in a foreign country, remain alert to avoid petty crime, such as pick-pocketing and petty theft. There are two international airports in Rwanda: Kigali International Airport and Kamembe International Airport. There are also several domestic airports.
